Weather - Product FAQs

My unit is displaying the temperature incorrectly what can I do?
If the unit is displaying the wrong temperature the customer should be advised to press the reset hole on the reverse of the unit and leave it for 24hrs in the same place.
How do I set the alarm time and the time?
Hold the alarm in for about 3 secs then the alarm time will start flashing, using the arrow button the hour may be set then press the alarm button again and set the minutes then press the alarm button once or twice to turn the alarm on/off. To set the regular time follow the above instructions, however use the mode key instead of alarm.
How long do the batteries last?
We recommend that the batteries be replaced every 6-8 months.
My trend indicator has not moved since I brought the unit, why is this?
The trend indicator will rise if the weather is improving and fall if the weather is deteriorating. The weather may be doing the above, but the trend indicator does not move. This is because the rise or fall is only temporary.
How accurate is my product?
We claim that on all our environmental monitors that the accuracy is between 70-75%.
My unit is displaying a sunshine symbol, yet it is actually raining. Why is this?
This is because the weather station predicts the weather for the next 12-24 hours within a 30 mile radius of where the barometer is situated.
Can you turn the storm warning alarm off?
No, the product has been manufactured to sound this alarm regardless. You can turn it off only after it has sounded by pressing any button.
My main unit is displaying a different temperature from the sensor even though they are next to one another.
The tolerance (accuracy) level on all thermometers is + or – 1c therefore it is possible that the main unit will show a reading of 2c and the sensor will show 4c. Both would be within the tolerance level of 1c from the “real” temperature See general info – barometers accuracy
My main unit is not picking up the temperature from the outside sensor.
Check the batteries in the sensor. Battery life and power will be significantly affected by periods of freezing weather. Check that the main unit and the sensors are both transmitting on the same frequency ie 433 mhz or 418mhz If the batteries are ok place the sensor and the main unit together and reset both units at the same time. (you will have to unscrew the back of the sensor to find the reset hole) leave for about 15 mins to check if the main unit picks up the signal from the sensor. Gradually move the sensor back to its outdoor position. Stopping at stages to check the signal is still being picked up. A variety of other devices using the same frequency can interfere with reception. Also certain reflective insulation in walls and double glazing in windows can also interfere. Try the unit and sensor in a completely different location.
What frequency do the channels transmit on?
All 3 channels use the same frequency 418 mhz or 433.92mhz while the data received from the remote sensors can be decoded by software to identify the corresponding channels as different channels have different transmission period.
Can I buy additional sensors for my unit?
Sensors can be bought from Clove on 0870 7280038.
