| RADIO 2 – or 4, or 10 or as many as you like… |
| Two way radios have taken on a new ‘must have’ status with the advent of state-of-the-art digital technology which gives crystal clarity over long ranges to several hundred other handsets without cost, interference or the need for a mobile phone signal.
The new TP380 two-way radio from Oregon Scientific launches this month and is expected to fly off the shelves. Not only does if offer virtually all the features of the hugely successful miniature TP329, but also it’s waterproof and robustly built with flexible antenna for use in the harshest of conditions. With a range of up to five kilometres in the open air, and over 300 channel combinations, the TP380 is perfect if you need to keep in touch with one or several people where there is no mobile phone signal or where the cost of keeping in touch is an issue. So, whether you’re trekking cross
country, on the slopes, keeping in touch with workers on a building site or just trying to keep tabs on your children at the funfair, fete or around the house, there’s nothing better.
Smart innovation
Unlike traditional two-way radios, the new digital TP380 is voice-activated so all you have to do is speak to start broadcasting. There’s also a vibration call alert for those occasions when you can’t hear for the noise around you– at a music festival, on a busy construction site or for security workers at a football match for example. And with up to 22 hours of battery life – charger units and rechargeable batteries included – it won’t cut out at the vital moment. There are plenty of other useful, and user friendly,
features to this fantastic radio, including backlit LCD display; key lock, key tone , auto power off and last channel memory
facility, for example. There’s also no need to confirm ‘over’ and ‘out’ with the built in roger beep function.
As tough as they come
Sadly the British weather can’t always be relied upon; with a TP380 in your hand, a bit of rain might dampen your spirits, but it won’t drown out your messages. The TP380 is fully waterproof to JIS level 2 and even if it slips out of your hand (although there’s a built-in belt clip to keep it safe) it shouldn’t sustain terminal damage – the rugged, rubberised design and true flexible antenna enable it to cope with most things you or the weather can throw at it.
And durability doesn’t come at the expense of aesthetics, either: the
compact TP380 is as neat, stylish and good-looking as you could wish for (absolutely nothing like the house brick-sized walkie-talkies of the 70s).
So, for a convenient, affordable and reliable way to keep in touch –
wherever you are – look no further than the great new TP380 Two-Way Radio from Oregon Scientific.
